Internet Explorer 6 issues
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because of changes in IE6's security settings, you may notice some "problems" with ezboard after installing IE6. All you have to do is change a few very simple settings to get everything working again.

1-You may have trouble staying logged in properly. (Many possible symptoms.)

Here's some information from the log in problems topic (beta.ezboard.com/fezboard...2160.topic ):

Note for those using the new IE 6 beta: For some reason, when using this browser, you cannot stay logged in when viewing a board in frames (such as, linking through a web site). I recommend you log in directly through ezboard, or use a different browser.

Note from Joey: The problem with IE6 is caused by the new privacy features. To fix follow these steps:

1) Click Tools...
2) Click Internet Options...
3) Click the Privacy Tab
4) in the top half of the tab is a slider that controls the cookies, move the slider all the way down.
5) Click OK

Login again and you should be fine

the above setting joeyteel mentions makes ezBoard logins works fine, but it leaves the user's entire system much more vulnerable to snooping spyware and worse.

I have this alternate recomendation that works on every ezBoard I've ever visited
1) Click "Tools"
2) Click "Internet Options"
3) Click the "Privacy" tab
4) Move the slider to "Medium-High"
5) Click "Edit" in the bottom-right of the window
6) type "ezboard.com" (no quotes) into the field
7) click "Allow"
click "OK"
9) click "OK"

This method allows ezboard's cookies unrestricted access, without compromising the rest of the user's privacy.
Here's a pic of what you should see.

2-Control Center may not work properly--can't use "view profile", "edit profile", and "edit preferences" buttons.

I have noticed several reports of this happening to users who have installed IE6. This seems to be the result of the changes in security settings. If this happens to you, you need to make sure scripts are enabled.
1)Go to the Tools menu.
2)Choose Internet Options
3)Go to the "Security" tab.
4)Go to "Custom Level".
5)Adjust settings to allow scripts to run.

If you have IE6 and can tell me what defaults need to be changed to allow the Control Center to work properly or under what circumstances scripts become disabled when you install IE6, please let me know.

Refresh Issue With Internet Explorer

OK here goes. This is for IE 6.0, I imagine there are similar options for 5.x.

in IE, go Tools--Internet Options--Connections Tab.

Click "Setup." This should open a Wizard.

First page of Wizard--select the 3rd option ("I want to connect through LAN")

Second Page--Select the 2nd option (LAN)

Third Page--Uncheck all boxes on this page. This is where I had the "Use Automatic Configuration Script" for a proxy selected.

Fourth Page--click "no"

Then finish the Wizard. It should reopen IE.
