Casting spell directly from the spellbook
 

Voici une question que j'ai entendue regulierement dans les games et que je trouve pertinent de poster ici avec la reponse apres etre tomber dessus par hasard....

Can a wizard cast a spell directly from his spellbook? If so
what effects on the spellbook are there?

No, you cannot use a spellbook like a scroll. A spellbook
contains notes for preparing a spell, but it’s not a precast spell
just waiting to be activated as a scroll is.

Ouais en effet... mais parfois lorsque les dm étaient maganime il le permettait :)

Je sais que lorsque les DMs sont magnanime, beaucoup de chose peuvent arriver :)

Mais disons que j'ai poster cela surtout a titre d'information....

L'avantage de le permettre, c'est de rendre le Wizard plus versatile. Il n'a pas à préparer des sorts du genre DETECT MAGIC. Il peut vraiment se lancer à fond avec ses sorts d'attaques. Lancer le sort à partir du grimoire est très bon dans une partie très axé sur le combat. Quand je DMais du 2E, je le permettais.

D'un autre côté, dans la 3E, les autres types de lanceurs de sorts (Barde, Sorcier, Clerc) sont désavantagés avec ce système.

Mais bref, la réponse de Wizards n'est pas surprenante, c'est RAW!

Salut,

Bien le hick c'est que lorsque je le permettais de caster à partir d'un livre, l'encre magique du spell disparaissait, donc il fallait que le mage retrouve le spell.

Mais évidamenent si un mage abusif commencait a copier son spellbook 50 fois... c'est une autre histoire.

C'est pour ça que Wizard le permet pas. Si on pourrait caster des spells book, les scroll serviraient pu a rien et il faudrait appliquer la même pénalité d'xp lorsque des spells sont copiés pour conserver une balance.

Et si tu crées un matériel magique qui te permet de l'appliquer sur les pages de ton grimoire, et rendre le sort utilisable à partir de lui?

Par exemple, j'applique une huile magique sur mon sort DETECT MAGIC. Je peux maintenant l'incanter à volonté, à partir du grimoire. Le temps d'incantation sera augmenté, pour le rendre inefficace en combat. Quelque chose du genre 3 steps de plus aux Castings Time. Les sorts Free-Action prennent une minute. Les sorts Standard-Action prennent 10 minutes. Les sorts Full-Round prennent 1 heure. Bref, tu peux attendre dans les catacombes aussi longtemps, mais c'est à ton risque et péril.

Le coût de l'huile serait assez prohibitif pour empêcher de l'appliquer à tous ses sorts. Ça serait une autre bonne raison pour ne pas perdre son grimoire!

Tout est possible, mais rendre quelque chose illimité, que ça soit un objet magique, casté a partir d'un spell book est succeptible de débalancer une campagne et causer des abus.

Tant qu'as faire cela, il serrais plus simple de faire soit des wands,rod, staff ou tout autre magique item contenant le spell...
